Volunteer opportunity description

The Pioneer Arizona Foundation is recruiting for volunteers to help with the daily operations of the Phoenix Pioneer Living History Museum.  If you are passionate about the history of Arizona and would enjoy teaching others about it, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you.

Each year thousands of visitors including school groups from across the valley visit the Pioneer Living History Museum which is just thirty minutes north of Phoenix. The museum provides visitors the opportunity to explore more than ninety acres of land that comprise the 1800's town.

Buildings include the Opera House, where famous actors of the day performed and a rifle port in an actual cabin that was involved in a "range war''.  There is also a blacksmith shop, jail, sheriff's office and ranch complex.

Volunteers are needed to assist in various capacities including serving as costumed interpreters such as lawmen, cowboys and Victorian ladies, assisting with the re-enactments of gun fights and to educate visitors about the rich history of Arizona.

*Please note this volunteer opportunity is coordinated by the Pioneer Arizona Foundation who operates this facility.
