Volunteer opportunity description

Are you interested in art or architecture?  Are you a fan of the Burton Barr Central Library?  Do you like being around people?  If so, then the library needs you!

The Burton Barr Central Library is looking for a volunteer to conduct tours of the library.  The goal of these tours is to provide welcoming and rewarding learning opportunities to members of our community.  Tours will highlight art and/or architecture while also helping to inform about the collections, services and programs offered by the library.  Training will be provided.

Are you looking for a fun, social way to spend your time?  Come and show others the wonders of the Burton Barr Central Library!

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time
  • Capable of engaging people of diverse backgrounds and age levels and are comfortable speaking in front of a group
  • Desire to share your interest and enthusiasm about the Burton Barr Central Library
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must complete a background check
  • Able to commit to the program for a minimum of six months
  • An interest in architecture and/or art is a plus
  • Bilingual is a plus
